Or when <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/new-york\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/10109826\/no-tailgating-parties-super-bowl-stadium\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MetLife Stadium<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">really<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> strict about staying within the bounds of your own parking spot in 2014, basically forcing you to drink beers in your car&#8230; if you could even get one of the few spots available. Boo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usbankstadium.com\/guest-experience\/tailgating\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">US Bank Stadium\u2019s tailgating page<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> says, \u201cTailgating is part of the U.S. Bank Stadium guest experience.\u201d But then there\u2019s this:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAuthorized tailgating in designated parking lots and ramps will be specific for Minnesota Vikings Games ONLY. Tailgating at all other U.S. Bank Stadium events will be authorized only by the parking lot operator.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since it\u2019s a special event like the Super Bowl and it&#8217;s run by the NFL, they make the rules. There won&#8217;t be any public parking for fans at US Bank Stadium on the day of the big game. For instance, for the Super Bowl parking that&#8217;s available at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pts.umn.edu\/park\/public-event-parking-super-bowl-lii-minneapolis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University of Minnesota<\/a>, the rules specifically state that no tailgating is permitted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>And many of lots in Minneapolis that&#8217;ll be open on game day are covered anyway (and you won&#8217;t be grilling brats in a parking garage.) You can check <a href=\"https:\/\/minneapolisparking.spplus.com\/events\/47695\/Parking-for-the-Big-Game.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> for spots that are for sale downtown.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, it&#8217;s a bummer. But it was kind of expected.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The thing is, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/deadspin.com\/there-will-be-no-tailgating-at-the-super-bowl-1479757203\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">according to some<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, there\u2019s not really a big tailgating culture at the Super Bowl anyway.
